Luckily something minor this time, brake light switch. Although the timing is fantastically awkward, bank holiday Monday when every parts store is shut. I could give my Twingo to my dad for the day, but I really don’t want to...
His driving isn't dangerous but it is unsympathetic to the car. Poor clutch control, in the wrong gear all the time etc...

Huh, for some reason I’ve never realised you’re in the UK.

I was confused for awhile because his avatar was the New England Patriots logo.

Citroen reliability, yo!

I guess the only clue is that I post RHD interior pics from time to time.

That confused and also angered several people. With the season back soon that avatar may return.

They’re second to none! (in giant panel gaps, water leaks, broken dipsticks and constant electrical faults)

Good to know my family isn't the only one that's had these problems XD

I was all excited thinking you had a Panda in New England but alas only in Olde England.

Haha I think any Citroen owner becomes familiar with their "quirks."

Indeed. Although the Panda would have been crushed into a cube in New England, whereas it's still on the roads here. SAVE THE PANDAS.

Is it sad that I would buy one anyway...? 0_0 If I had the money and lived in Europe, the Cactus would be near the top of my list for a DD!

Yep, and I bet you write stuff the proper way (I may or may not have had an inkling that you lived in the UK without realising it).

The newer stuff is much better. That said the Saxo can be fun on the right road. The rubbish pedal positioning and garbage seats ruin that a bit though.
I'd love a Cactus too.

Get a 97 Xantia Break with the 1.9 TD. Probably the most reliable Citroen ever if you drive on highways only for 350.000 miles.

The BX I just sold had that engine, but without the turbo. 323k km and counting. Barely broken in, according to my colleague who daily drives a... Xantia with the 1.9 TD. His is like new, no issues ever. He drove his previous one to 450k. My Peugeot 406 coupe, (basically a Xantia with normal suspension underneath) has been without significant fault as well. Only things I needed to replace after the first week of ownership that weren’t normal maintenance items were the mid section of the exhaust, battery (preventive) and radiator (preventive). So, basically all normal stuff as well. 257k on the odometer, of which 90k are mine.

I did previously mention that my dad had a 97 Xantia Break 1.9 Turbo D some ten years ago didn’t I? Which he drove for 550.ooo km with very few issues, because literally 95% of those kms were done on highways doing 130kph in 5th?
